Run multiple instances of equipment generator (equipgen.exe)

On projects with many large equipment types and many instances, updating equipment (equipgen.exe) changes takes hours. The equipment update is only consuming resources on one CPU core.

Most of the times it is possible to create different projects to split the Equipment instances. When it is possible to run equipment updates in parallel on those split projects it saves a lot of waiting time.

Hi All. This has now been corrected and fixed with significant speed improvements in Plant SCADA 2023 July Update 7. This is looking to be backported into the PS2020 line in a future service pack. It will also be included on the main branch for the PS2023R2 release.

R&D is investigating how to increase the speed of the Equipment Update back to the performance identified in previous releases. This is a known issue at the moment, and will be corrected.

Increasement should go from hours to under 1 min!
